View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] KOTRA announced on the 11th that it will promote an online Korean Pavilion project for overseas exhibitions. This measure is to support our export companies that have difficulty participating in overseas exhibitions due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
KOTRA will build online Korean Pavilions for each overseas exhibition scheduled to participate this year on the digital trade platform 'BuyKorea.' For example, in the case of this month's Istanbul Medical Device Exhibition, since it is difficult for Korean companies to participate due to Turkey's entry restrictions, an 'online Korean Pavilion' will be opened on BuyKorea. The online Korean Pavilion will showcase digital content such as product introduction videos and e-brochures of participating companies to introduce our products to global buyers.
In addition, video consultations will support the online Korean Pavilion project. When buyers from each country select items or companies of interest through the online Korean Pavilion, overseas trade centers will arrange video consultations between buyers and Korean companies. KOTRA plans to support sample delivery of products for which video consultations have been conducted, aiming to achieve effects similar to actual exhibition participation.
Industry-specific online special pavilions will also be newly established. Through special pavilions in 10 promising export industries such as medical, consumer goods, and materials/components/equipment, information on domestic companies' products will be available at a glance. Buyers can inquire about questions and express purchase intentions to domestic companies through the product information screen. From the end of this month to May, intensive video consultations with buyers discovered through the industry-specific special pavilions will be conducted.
