View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) deployed an electric-powered eco-friendly robot cleaner capable of COVID-19 disinfection operations on-site starting from the 5th to create a healthy and pleasant urban environment and to efficiently clean road surfaces.
The eco-friendly robot cleaner measures 240cm in length, 96cm in width, and 142cm in height, and uses 100ℓ volume-based waste bags that can be replaced.
The district introduced the eco-friendly robot cleaner on the east and west sides of Changdong Station, where there is a large floating population and frequent cleaning is required due to illegal dumping such as cigarette butts, to promote eco-friendly cleaning administration in the AI era.
The robot cleaner operates road surface cleaning from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, spraying disinfectant through a liquid spraying device to simultaneously perform COVID-19 disinfection and cleaning, achieving a twofold effect.
The newly introduced robot cleaner uses electric batteries, producing no noise or exhaust emissions, and its compact size allows cleaning in areas with heavy foot traffic.
It is also more efficient compared to manual work by sanitation workers and reduces dust generation caused by broom use, creating a pleasant walking environment.
In particular, while large cleaning vehicles previously could not clean narrow alleys or places difficult for sanitation workers to access, the introduction of the small robot cleaner makes cleaning narrow spaces easier, and remote control operation allows cleaning in flower beds, drainage ditches, curved areas, and places where equipment deployment is difficult.
Additionally, sanitation workers can ride on the cleaner to perform cleaning, and hose cleaning is possible, enabling cleaning without blind spots.
