Two Siblings Confirmed with COVID-19 in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul... Parents to Self-Isolate and Undergo Testing
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A 28-year-old and 27-year-old brother living in Hwikyung 2-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, have been notified of testing positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to Dongdaemun-gu, the brothers were tested at the Dongdaemun-gu Public Health Center's screening clinic the day before and received positive results on the 10th, the following day.
Among them, the younger brother (the 12th patient in Dongdaemun-gu) was a contact of the 9th patient in Dongdaemun-gu (a 27-year-old male residing in Hwikyung 2-dong, confirmed positive on the 8th). He had symptoms such as coughing since the 27th of last month but thought he was fine and continued his daily routine until the 9th patient's confirmation, which prompted him to enter self-quarantine. He is currently hospitalized at Seoul Medical Center.
The older brother (the 13th patient in Dongdaemun-gu) experienced intermittent fever starting from the 2nd of this month and took antipyretics on the 8th. Dongdaemun-gu plans to isolate and hospitalize this patient as soon as a hospital bed becomes available.
It was investigated that the brothers frequently visited PC bangs during late-night hours starting from late February or early March, when their symptoms began to appear.
