Prosecutors to Grant Leniency Including Deferred Prosecution for Voluntary Mask Stockpiling Reports by the 14th
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The prosecution has decided to show maximum leniency, such as deferring indictment, if mask manufacturers and sellers voluntarily report hoarding by the 14th.
The Supreme Prosecutors' Office announced on the 10th that it had instructed prosecution offices at all levels accordingly.
The prosecution explained that this directive was issued in consideration of the government's operation of a 'Special Voluntary Reporting Period for Mask Hoarding' from today until the 14th. This is a measure to release hoarded supplies into the market.
The prosecution plans to strictly handle cases detected after the voluntary reporting period, actively reflecting the failure to report voluntarily within the period in sentencing and disposition, including conducting investigations under detention.
