Sungdong Police to Conduct First Investigation on Singer Park Kyung Regarding 'Music Chart Manipulation Allegations' on the 9th
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Singer Park Kyung (28), who was sued after raising suspicions of music chart manipulation, voluntarily appeared at the police station on the 9th and underwent his first investigation.
Seongdong Police Station in Seoul announced on the 10th that Park, who was sued for violating the Information and Communications Network Act, voluntarily appeared at the police station the previous day and was investigated for about three hours.
Last November, Park mentioned the real names of six artists, including Vibe, on social networking services (SNS), raising suspicions of music chart manipulation. As a result, he was sued and accused by those artists for defamation by spreading false information under the Information and Communications Network Act. Park has also postponed his military enlistment due to the police investigation.
A police official stated, "Based on the first investigation, we plan to conduct further investigations."

Park's agency, Seven Seasons, revealed the fact of Park's police investigation on the 10th, stating, "Although the investigation date was significantly delayed due to the spreading COVID-19 (novel coronavirus infection) situation, Park Kyung intends to sincerely cooperate with any further investigation requests."
