Shinhyup Donates Donations Worth 2.1 Billion Won to Overcome COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] Credit unions and their executives nationwide have donated approximately 2.1 billion KRW in donations to overcome the crisis caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The National Credit Union Federation of Korea announced on the 9th that it delivered 2.1 billion KRW (including 200,000 masks and hand sanitizers) collected from 883 credit unions nationwide, the federation's executives and employees, and the Credit Union Social Contribution Foundation to the National Disaster Relief Association.
This donation was made through the voluntary participation of 883 credit unions and their executives and employees nationwide. Kim Yoon-sik, the chairman of the federation, also generously contributed 100 million KRW from his personal funds.
Chairman Kim stated, "Credit unions will do their best efforts to overcome COVID-19 and national disasters."
