According to Gwangyang City on the 2nd, A (36, female), residing in Jungmadong, Gwangyang, was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on the afternoon of the 1st and has been transferred to a negative pressure ward at Suncheon Medical Center for treatment.
Fortunately, A’s husband and their two children tested negative.
A’s parents-in-law, who live in Ulsan, visited Gwangyang on the 20th of last month, stayed overnight, and returned to Ulsan. From the 28th of last month, they experienced fever and body aches, and after being tested at the Ulsan Public Health Center on the 29th, they were confirmed positive on the 1st.
Gwangyang City believes that A was infected through contact with her parents-in-law from Ulsan.
A mostly stayed in her apartment from the 21st of last month until her confirmation, only visiting the supermarket in front of her home twice. Gwangyang City disinfected A’s residence, apartment hallways, and the supermarket, which was also closed.
A’s husband, who works at POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks, began working from home on the 28th of last month after his parents showed fever symptoms.
