[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Samsung Electronics will start a pre-sale event from the 3rd of this month ahead of the official launch of its new QLED 8K TV.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 2nd that it will hold a pre-sale event from the 3rd to the 16th of this month ahead of the official launch of the 2020 QLED 8K TV. This event is held to commemorate Samsung TV achieving the world's No.1 sales for 14 consecutive years, and is limited to 300 units of two 2020 QLED 8K models (85-inch and 75-inch).
Samsung Electronics plans to offer exceptional benefits to customers who purchase in advance. First, they will provide a free 55-inch lifestyle TV model, The Serif, along with a 5-year free warranty, 10-year burn-in warranty, and premium installation service through the ‘Q Care Service’.
Additionally, benefits worth between 500,000 and 1,000,000 KRW will be offered depending on the distribution channel, including ‘Samsung Electronics Membership Points’ that can be used when purchasing Samsung products. Furthermore, a ‘Sound Coupon Pack’ will be given, allowing customers to purchase various audio devices such as soundbars at a 50% discounted price.
The 2020 QLED 8K TV provides a next-level 8K experience through innovations across the product, including picture quality, sound, and smart features, powered by advanced AI technology. It also features an ‘Infinity Screen’ that minimizes bezels to utilize 99% of the screen. The new AI Quantum Processor applies deep learning methods, enabling any input video to be converted into high-quality 8K resolution through optimal upscaling algorithms.
Samsung’s proprietary AI-based sound technology completes innovative sound through features such as ‘Moving Sound Plus (Object Tracking Sound+)’ which optimizes sound according to the movement of objects in the video, ‘Active Voice Amplifier’ which emphasizes the speaker’s voice in the video when external noise occurs, and ‘Q-Symphony’ which creates a rich surround system using speakers from both the TV and soundbar.
The models eligible for the event are the top-tier QLED 8K lineup with Infinity Screen applied, priced at 19.4 million KRW for the 85-inch model (85QT950) and 13.9 million KRW for the 75-inch model (75QT950) based on the retail price.
The 2020 QLED 8K pre-sale event can be participated in at Samsung Digital Plaza stores nationwide, other offline stores, and on the Samsung Electronics website.
