14th COVID-19 Death in Korea... 69-Year-Old Woman in Daegu Under Self-Quarantine
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A patient who was in self-quarantine after being tested for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Daegu has died.
This is the 14th death in the country and the second victim to die while in self-quarantine.
According to Daegu Catholic University Hospital on the 28th, a 69-year-old woman in self-quarantine complained of difficulty breathing around 5:39 a.m. and was urgently transported to the emergency room by ambulance.
The woman’s condition worsened with a body temperature rising to 39 degrees Celsius, and she received cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the ambulance, but died one hour after arriving at the hospital.
The COVID-19 positive diagnosis was confirmed in the morning after she had passed away.
The hospital explained that she had undergone a COVID-19 test at Daegu Medical Center around 3 p.m. the previous day and returned home, but her symptoms rapidly worsened, and when she arrived at the hospital, she had no pulse or spontaneous breathing. It has not yet been confirmed whether she was a member of Shincheonji Church.
