LPN "JMI, Expected to Stabilize Financial Structure and Maximize Profitability"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] LPEN, a precision chemical company related to semiconductors and electronics, announced on the 27th that it will complete the acquisition of JMI on the 26th of next month.
Founded in 1993, JMI is an authorized reproduction (AR) company that has signed an official software reproduction contract with Microsoft Corporation in the United States. It supplies Microsoft's operating systems to domestic and international personal computer (PC) manufacturers.
Since its listing in 1997, JMI recorded stable performance thanks to the booming media market. However, due to the emergence of competitors and the lack of new business items, it recorded a loss in 2018.
LPEN is a company that produces semiconductor precursors, display electronic materials, organic light-emitting materials, and anode materials for secondary batteries. It supplies electronic materials to first-tier partners of major domestic semiconductor companies.
Its sales increased from 2.1 billion KRW in 2015 to 30.3 billion KRW in 2018. Recently, it also developed a new manufacturing technology for silicon anode materials for secondary batteries.
An LPEN official said, "LPEN, which is growing rapidly in performance and engaged in promising future businesses, will become the largest shareholder of JMI," adding, "We will stabilize JMI's financial structure, maximize profitability, and improve its business structure."
