Korea Racing Authority Gwangju Branch Screen Horse Racing Track Temporarily Closed
Operation to be Suspended Until the 8th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Korea Racing Authority Gwangju Branch, located in Gyelim-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will suspend the operation of the screen horse racing venue until the 8th of next month in response to the spread of COVID-19.
This measure was taken as the Korea Racing Authority accepted the continuous closure requests from Dong-gu, reflecting the local residents' concerns about the escalation of the COVID-19 alert to a severe level and the risk of further spread.
The Korea Racing Authority Gwangju Branch proposed Dong-gu's closure request to the Korea Racing Authority headquarters, which decided on temporary closure at the board meeting on the 23rd, and additionally announced on the 27th that 36 business sites nationwide will be temporarily closed until the 8th of next month.
The Korea Racing Authority Gwangju Branch has been striving to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by installing thermal imaging cameras at the main entrance, mandating hand sanitization and mask-wearing for all building entrants, conducting individual temperature checks using non-contact thermometers, guiding and managing personal hygiene, and performing special disinfection of the building twice.
