According to the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 26th, the presence indicator lights installed on the walls of each office with LED lights have been operated by employees manually turning the on/off switch to indicate the presence of the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Director of Education, and Director of Administration.
These presence indicator lights have been maintained for the convenience of face-to-face approvals, but they decided to remove them following opinions that the negative aspects outweigh the convenience of approvals.
With the establishment of the Policy Bureau due to the organizational restructuring on the 1st of next month, an additional installation cost of about 40 million won was expected, leading to the decision to replace the existing presence indicator lights with 'Jeonnam Messenger.'
The Office of Education explained that while the existing presence indicator lights only allowed confirmation of presence by simply turning them on or off, the future 'Jeonnam Messenger' will enable real-time online confirmation of executives' presence, absence, meetings, business trips, and other statuses.

Kim Pyeong-hoon, Director of Administration, said, "Every time there is an organizational restructuring, installation costs are incurred, and the presence indicator lights installed on the prominently visible walls of offices likely caused a burden for employees. Replacing the presence indicator lights with 'Jeonnam Messenger' will contribute to forming a more horizontal and equal organizational culture and to budget savings."
