First COVID-19 Case Confirmed in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province... One Person in Their 60s Infected
On the 21st, a mobile negative pressure isolation room is being installed outside Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital in Dalseo-gu, Daegu. The hospital installed it to hold suspected patients (COVID-19) until their test results come out due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.
On the 22nd, one new case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, prompting authorities to initiate emergency quarantine measures.
Anyang City announced in a press release that "a 64-year-old male resident of Hogye-dong, who was under self-quarantine, tested positive for COVID-19 today."
The confirmed patient had been working as a taxi driver in Seoul and was classified as a contact by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency after transporting the 30th confirmed patient from Jongno-gu, Seoul. He had been in self-quarantine since the 18th.
The patient is currently being transferred to and treated in isolation at Gyeonggi Provincial Anseong Medical Center.
Anyang City deployed the immediate response team from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, epidemiologists from Gyeonggi Province, and the infectious disease support group to trace the patient’s movements and contacts, as well as to disinfect the patient’s residence.

The city stated, "Once the patient’s movements and contacts are confirmed, we will promptly inform the public," and urged citizens to "avoid crowded places when going out, wear masks at all times, and use hand sanitizers to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community."
