[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Joo-hee] Actor Lee Kwang-gi revealed the story of donating his son's insurance money to Haiti after his son passed away from swine flu.
On the morning of the 11th, Lee Kwang-gi appeared on KBS1's 'Morning Yard Tuesday Invitation' and explained that he donated his son's death insurance money to Haiti.
Lee Kwang-gi said, "In 2010, a major earthquake occurred in Haiti. At that time, I was also in pain and struggling because my child had already gone to heaven," adding, "I couldn't share the pain alone. Through some opportunity, I decided to donate my child's insurance money to Haiti."
He continued, "When the donation was reported through the media, the producer of 'Love's Request' said they were planning a special fundraising live broadcast for Haiti and that it would be a great help if I went with them."
He recalled, "But I was too exhausted to say I would go. I declined by saying 'I will pray about it,' but my heart kept turning toward the children."
