Opening of 'Vision Center' Dedicated to Care, Education, and Health Management Support for People with Brain Lesions
Seoul City Invests 8.4 Billion KRW in 21 Projects
Communication Rights Promotion Center and Career Experiment Center to Open Soon
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Two 'Vision Centers' where people with brain lesions can receive comprehensive care, education, and health management will be introduced for the first time this year.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 11th that it will invest 8.4 billion KRW in 21 projects this year to provide customized support for people with brain lesions.
The Vision Centers will finalize their locations through a public contest among autonomous districts and begin operations in August. The Vision Centers are specialized facilities dedicated to adult brain lesion patients after school age. They will be equipped with special facilities such as hoists and beds for changing large and small incontinence products.
Additionally, a Communication Rights Promotion Center will newly open in July to assist brain lesion patients who have difficulty communicating due to speech disorders.

Furthermore, the age eligibility for support in purchasing incontinence products will be expanded at key brain lesion welfare centers, and a dedicated training course for professional activity support workers will be newly established and operated. Research will also be conducted to create a Career Experiment Center for discovering and supporting customized jobs for young adults starting their careers, as well as an emergency care facility where temporary care can be provided in cases of temporary absence of parents or family members.
