Yangcheon-gu, Public Facilities and Multi-use Facilities Joint Public-Private Quarantine
COVID-19 Prevention Campaign and Listening to Local Merchants' Concerns at Moksarang Traditional Market
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) conducted a public-private joint quarantine and campaign on the 10th at public facilities and facilities used by many residents as a preventive measure against the novel coronavirus.
Mayor Kim Soo-young of Yangcheon-gu and the public-private joint group consisting of the Mok 4-dong Village Love Quarantine Volunteer Group started with the I-mom Cafe and Moksarang Market Customer Parking & Sharing Center, which are frequently used by mothers and children, and then disinfected daycare centers, traditional markets, and areas around nearby schools.
In particular, they carried out intensive disinfection in every corner of places frequently touched by people, such as the fence handrails for the disabled and elderly leading from the parking lot to the main gate, and door handles. Disinfection was conducted mainly in areas with heavy foot traffic around daycare centers, traditional markets, and schools.
They also distributed notices on novel coronavirus prevention guidelines and masks directly to traditional market merchants and customers, urging them to do their best to prevent infectious diseases. At the same time, they continued efforts to support the local economy and merchants facing economic difficulties due to the novel coronavirus.
Yangcheon-gu and the Yangcheon-gu branch of the Saemaul Undong movement conducted a thorough disinfection on the 7th, focusing on vulnerable areas frequently visited by children such as school commuting routes around elementary schools, library surroundings, bus stops, and daycare centers.
Additionally, the Village Love Quarantine Volunteer Group, consisting of a total of 111 members, plans to conduct weekly self-disinfection by neighborhood (4 to 7 members) focusing on vulnerable areas starting from the 10th.
Mayor Kim Soo-young of Yangcheon-gu emphasized, “We will continue to make every effort to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus by focusing on facilities used by vulnerable groups and multi-use facilities for residents.”
