Samsung SDI-Ecopro BM, Joint Venture 'Ecopro EM' Established
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Samsung SDI and EcoPro BM are establishing a joint venture to produce next-generation battery materials.
On the 10th, EcoPro BM announced that it will establish a joint venture called 'EcoPro EM' with Samsung SDI. The shareholding ratio is EcoPro BM 60%, Samsung SDI 40%. Accordingly, EcoPro BM and Samsung SDI will each invest a total of 72 billion KRW and 48 billion KRW, respectively, in the new company by 2021.
On this day, EcoPro BM explained through a public disclosure that the purpose of this stock acquisition is to "increase cathode active material production capacity."
