[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Hong Jin-wook, Director of the Africa and Middle East Division, held the 7th Korea-Japan Director-General Level Middle East Policy Consultation with Katsuhiko Takahashi, Director of the Middle East and Africa Division of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building on the morning of the 10th. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that they exchanged opinions on "both countries' Middle East policies" and "recent Middle East developments."
On this day, both sides shared the recognition that peace and stability in the Middle East region are directly linked to the stability of the international community, including Northeast Asia, and agreed to continue communication and cooperation between Korea and Japan, which hold similar views on Middle East issues.
