Kumho Express Encourages Employees to Take 'Unpaid Leave'... Direct Hit from Novel Coronavirus
Increase in Jeonse Bus Reservation Cancellations... Entering Emergency Management
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Kumho Express, which has been hit hard by the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia), will implement short-term voluntary unpaid leave for office workers as part of emergency management measures.
On the 10th, Kumho Express explained, "As the spread of the novel coronavirus has dampened travel sentiment, bus passengers have decreased, and charter bus reservation cancellations have increased, we aim to utilize personnel efficiently."
The leave period can be decided individually between 5 and 30 days. The deadline for short-term unpaid leave is until April.
Kumho Express also encouraged crew members and technical staff to actively use long-term annual leave. This is intended to minimize costs as work has decreased due to the novel coronavirus.
Kumho Express stated, "This is a necessary choice to reduce costs in an uncertain future," and added, "We will overcome the management crisis through efficient personnel operation."
