Mapo-gu 'Learning Club Support Project' Call for Applications
Call for 'Learning Club Support Project' for Adult Learning Clubs with 7 or More Members... Up to 1 Million KRW Support per Club
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Mapo-gu (District Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) is announcing the '2020 Mapo-gu Learning Club Support Project' to support diverse and continuous learning activities and volunteer work for learning clubs within the district.
This initiative aims to strengthen the learning competitiveness of the community by supporting learning clubs, the smallest units of learning communities, and to establish a learning support system that reflects the diverse learning needs of residents, befitting the status of a lifelong learning city.
The target applicants are adult learning clubs registered with the Mapo-gu Lifelong Learning Center, active within the district, and composed of seven or more members who regularly engage in learning activities.
There are two support areas: the learning activity support area, which covers instructor fees, textbook costs, material costs, printing fees, etc., and the social participation activity assistance area, which supports material costs related to community service activities.
The support amount is up to 1 million KRW per learning club, with a total budget of 20 million KRW planned by the district.
However, simple social gatherings, cases where the instructor is the learning representative, projects receiving subsidies from administrative agencies for the same content, projects for the benefit of specific organizations, one-time events, or projects with political purposes are excluded from support.
Learning clubs wishing to apply must submit the project application form, project plan, identification documents of the club representative, and confirmation of affiliation with the learning club institution or organization by visiting the Mapo-gu Lifelong Learning Center (2nd floor of Woori Mapo Welfare Center) by February 20 or by mailing the documents.
The submitted programs will be finally decided after review by the district’s local subsidy review committee following an internal review committee meeting, and the results will be individually notified to the selected clubs in March.
For more details, please contact the Mapo-gu Lifelong Learning Center at 3153-8971.
Last year, the district supported a total of 17,977,000 KRW to 19 learning clubs selected through the public contest, including 'Mapo English Club', 'Boardjapgo Sinnago', and 'Geurillae'.
