Yangcheon-gu Postpones Civil Defense Training and Cancels Daeboreum Event... Priority Suspension of Programs for Vulnerable Groups Including Seniors and Infants
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) announced that it will cancel or postpone events and lectures organized by the district and temporarily close some facilities to prepare for the spread of the "Novel Coronavirus" epidemic.
As of the 4th, 79 events including the Jeongwol Daeboreum Festival and civil defense training have been canceled or postponed, and 609 lectures have been discontinued. Some educational facilities in the area, as well as senior citizen cafeterias and staff cafeterias within the district office, will also be temporarily closed.
In particular, events with large attendance by residents have mostly been canceled or postponed to prevent the community spread of the infection. Programs for vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children have also been prioritized for cancellation to protect these groups.
A Yangcheon-gu official stated, "Events and lectures are being canceled one after another to prevent the spread of the 'Novel Coronavirus.' We hope residents check the Yangcheon-gu Office website in advance for cancellations or postponements to avoid unnecessary trips."
