Hong Joon-pyo and Yoo Seung-min on the 'Jongno Draft Theory'... "It's no different from Hwang Kyo-ahn's political retirement theory"
"Let's Unite Now to Win the General Election"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Former Liberty Korea Party leader Hong Joon-pyo commented on Rep. Yoo Seung-min of the New Conservative Party's 'Jongno candidacy theory' on the 7th, stating, "Rep. Yoo's theory of acting as a proxy candidate in Jongno is no different from Representative Hwang Kyo-ahn's retirement from politics theory."
On the same day, former leader Hong said on Facebook, "If Representative Hwang doesn't work out, at least put forward Mr. Jang Gi-pyo, who is endorsed by the United New Party. That would have a justification," adding, "If a major party cannot field a candidate and a mini party fields a candidate in Jongno, the election is a foregone conclusion."
Former leader Hong sharpened his remarks, saying, "Can the election proceed if the party forcibly removes me? Can the general election proceed by eliminating presidential contenders?"

Former leader Hong said, "If you say you will run for president but fail to gain trust in your hometown more than the party, do you have the qualification to run for president? In the worst case, I came back to my hometown because I judged that it is possible to break through the general election even without the party's backing," adding, "Now is the time to unite and fight the general election."
