Closure of 3 Facilities Including 21st Century Hospital in Gwangju Area; 1,526 Places Temporarily Closed
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that as of the 6th, three daycare centers have been closed and 1,526 facilities are temporarily closed to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.
The closed facilities include the daycare center attended by the child who was the 16th confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection, the Gwangsan-gu Gwangju Postal Distribution Center where the 22nd confirmed case worked, and the 21st Century Hospital in Gwangsan-gu where the 16th confirmed case received outpatient treatment and the 18th confirmed case was hospitalized, totaling three locations.
The temporarily closed facilities total 1,526, including five indefinite closures and 1,521 temporary closures.
Among the indefinite closures are Bitgoeul Senior Health Town and Hyoryeong Senior Health Town in Nam-gu and Buk-gu, the National Asia Culture Center (ACC) Children's Experience Hall and Children's Creative Experiment Room in Dong-gu, and the Cultural and Arts Center in Buk-gu.
Additionally, 290 kindergartens and 1,122 daycare centers in the district have temporarily closed from the 6th to the 7th, and 17 elementary schools and six kindergartens around the residences of the 16th and 18th confirmed cases in Gwangsan-gu will suspend education until the 17th.
Seven senior welfare centers, 20 comprehensive welfare centers, seven disability welfare centers, 27 senior citizen dining halls, five youth facilities in Gwangsan-gu, 24 children's centers, three study rooms, two sports facilities, and three food banks in the district will be closed until the 18th.
In addition, nine libraries in Gwangsan-gu and one library in Seo-gu, totaling ten libraries, will also be temporarily closed.
