Candidate Lee Yong-bin: "Participating in Blood Donation with a Heart to Save Lives"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Lee Yong-bin, a preliminary candidate for the National Assembly representing Gwangsan-gu Gap, Gwangju Metropolitan City from the Democratic Party of Korea, appealed on the 6th, “Due to the novel coronavirus, blood donations have decreased, causing an emergency in blood supply,” and urged, “Let us participate in blood donation with the heart to save lives and protect life.”
On the same day, preliminary candidate Lee visited the ‘Blood Donation House Gwangju Songjeong Station Center’ to have a conversation with officials and decided to actively participate in the blood donation campaign. Additionally, members and supporters of ‘Lee Yong-bin’s Welcome Camp’ also visited the Blood Donation House to join the blood donation.
Candidate Lee stated, “The Korean Red Cross has issued an appeal for blood donation participation due to a sharp decline in donors caused by the novel coronavirus,” and added, “According to the Korean Red Cross Blood Management Headquarters, as of the 4th, the blood supply is only enough for 3.4 days, and if the current decrease in donors continues, a blood crisis of less than 3 days is expected around the 13th.”
He continued, “Before being a politician, I am a doctor who saves lives, so I understand the importance of blood donation better than anyone,” and said, “Blood donation is essential for medical facilities struggling with blood supply and patients suffering in hospital beds.”
