[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Guro-gu opened and began operating a Novel Coronavirus Resident Information Center on the 5th.
Guro-gu announced on the 6th that, as the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection increased domestically, it established the information center to prevent the infection and provide residents with accurate information.
The centers were installed in six locations: one each at Namguro Market, Garibong-dong Community Center, and Umagil Security Post, and three at Namguro Station Dawn Labor Market. Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the Dawn Labor Market centers operate from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m.
At the centers, district office staff and visiting nurses provide information and preventive measures regarding the novel coronavirus infection. Visitors' conditions are checked with thermometers, and those with fever or respiratory symptoms are directed to screening clinics for medical examination.
On the 5th, District Mayor Lee Seong visited the sites where the information centers were installed and urged thorough promotion and prevention activities.
On the afternoon of the 5th, Guro-gu also held a Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting. At the meeting attended by senior officials of the task force, they shared the progress of the headquarters' initiatives and discussed identifying and securing additional quantities of quarantine supplies within the region.
Guro-gu also conducted disinfection work at sports facilities operated by the Facilities Management Corporation, such as the Guro-gu Citizens Sports Center and Sindorim Life Sports Center. Members were informed that the facilities would remain open but that registration periods could be extended by one month or refunds without penalties were available.
