Hubei Province Reports 70 Additional Deaths in One Day (Update)
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] In Hubei Province, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia), 70 deaths were reported in a single day.
On the 6th, the Hubei Provincial Health Commission (Weiguanwei) announced that as of midnight, 2,987 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus were reported. Among them, 1,766 cases were from Wuhan City.
There were also 70 additional deaths. This is the first time that 70 deaths have been reported in a single day. In Wuhan City alone, 52 people died.
The cumulative total of confirmed cases in Hubei Province now stands at 19,665. Among them, 2,328 are severe cases, and 756 are critically severe cases, so the number of deaths is expected to continue to rise.
