Smilegate Donates 1.7 Billion KRW in Relief Funds to China Affected by Novel Coronavirus
Emergency Relief Supplies Also Provided to Korean Residents Returning to the Country
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Smilegate announced on the 6th that it has donated 10 million yuan (approximately 1.7 billion KRW) to Chinese Ambassador to Korea Xing Haiming to help citizens of Wuhan, China, suffering from the novel coronavirus, receive daily necessities and relief supplies.
Chinese Ambassador to Korea Xing Haiming said, "We will deliver not only the donation provided by Smilegate but also their warm hearts to the Chinese people in the affected areas," and added, "We are very grateful for the support from Smilegate and many other Korean companies."
Additionally, Smilegate is collaborating with the Korean Red Cross to carry out domestic support activities. Smilegate plans to provide emergency relief supplies such as books and health products to Jincheon in Chungbuk and Asan in Chungnam, where temporary living facilities for Korean residents recently returned from Wuhan are located, as well as hygiene products including masks and hand sanitizers.
