Gwangju City Announces Omae Gwangju Tourism Character Contest Until the 16th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 5th that it will accept entries for the 'Omae Gwangju Tourism Character Contest' from the entire nation from the 5th to the 16th.
This contest was promoted to select a character that will introduce tourist attractions in a friendly manner ahead of the 40th anniversary of the May 18 Democratic Movement and the Gwangju Biennale.
The contest is open to all citizens of the Republic of Korea, including individuals, groups, companies, and joint submissions.
The character should represent the five charms of Gwangju cultural tourism, called 'Omae Gwangju,' which are Omae Gadeuk Culture, Omae Bulmang Food, Omae Sinnna Festival, Omae Nangman Healing Spot, and Omae Silgam Experience, expressed in a way that is unique and true to Gwangju.

Gwangju City plans to announce the winning entry in early March after a first round of expert judging and a second round of public preference survey. The winner will receive a prize of 3.5 million won and a certificate, and two runners-up will receive 500,000 won and certificates.
