Rental of Child Car Seats for Families with Children Under 6 Years Old in Gwangjin-gu... One Application Per Household, Rental Usable Until November 30
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is implementing the "Safety Car Seat Rental Project" to support infant and toddler childcare products and ensure traffic safety.
This project was established to create a safe traffic environment for infants and toddlers following the strengthening of the law mandating car seat installation for young children, due to the revision of the Road Traffic Act in September 2018.
Applicants must be families with children under the age of 6 residing in Gwangjin-gu, and each household can apply once.
The rental period is available until November 30, and applications are currently being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The usage fee is free, but a deposit of 30,000 KRW is required, which will be refunded upon return of the car seat.
The rental location is the Gwangjin-gu Childcare Support Center Toy Library (Guui 1-dong Community Service Center, 31 Dongil-ro 56ga-gil).
When selecting renters, priority is given to persons with disabilities, basic livelihood security recipients, single-parent families, multicultural families, and families with three or more children. The selection results can be confirmed via individual text messages.
Applications can be submitted online or in person through the Gwangjin-gu Childcare Support Center website (http://www.gjcare.go.kr).
For more details, contact the Gwangjin-gu Childcare Support Center or the Gwangjin-gu Office Family Welfare Division (☎450-7554).
The district plans to expand the car seat rental service by purchasing a total of 100 car seats by 2022, starting with 60 units last year, 83 units this year.
Additionally, residents interested in practicing sharing can donate used car seats from their homes. Donated car seats will be inspected and cleaned before being rented to residents in need. Residents wishing to donate car seats can visit the Gwangjin-gu Toy Library (Guui 1-dong Community Service Center) to make their donation.
