[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] On the 3rd, Dongkuk Steel and its labor union held the '2020 Wage Agreement Signing Ceremony' at the Incheon plant, concluding wage negotiations first in the domestic steel industry this year.
With this, Dongkuk Steel and its labor union have maintained a culture of mutual growth and trust for 26 years since declaring the nation's first 'permanent no-strike' agreement in 1994.
Jang Se-wook, Vice Chairman of Dongkuk Steel, stated, "The successful wage negotiation was possible because both labor and management shared a sense of crisis due to the global economic downturn and increasing uncertainties in the steel market."
