Damyang-gun Takes Proactive Measures Against Novel Coronavirus
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeonnam (Governor Choi Hyungsik) has taken proactive measures by activating an emergency quarantine task force in preparation for the novel coronavirus infection.
The county announced on the 30th that, following the government's elevation of the infectious disease crisis level to 'alert' and the expansion of the 24-hour emergency response system, it has formed and is operating a county quarantine task force as a strong preemptive measure.
First, the county designated Damyang Sarang Hospital as a screening medical institution and installed a screening clinic at the public health center to establish a cooperative system for responding to symptomatic individuals such as contacts. It is also sending text messages containing safety guidelines to residents and promoting symptom differentiation and prevention rules through village broadcasts.
On the same day, a comprehensive review meeting on response measures was held to share the current situation and discuss more systematic response plans.
Additionally, residents were urged to follow preventive measures such as hand washing and wearing masks, and if they experience abnormal symptoms such as fever or cough within 14 days after visiting China, to consult the public health center, Damyang Sarang Hospital, or the local call center before visiting a hospital.
