[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) is operating the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters 24 hours a day from the 30th, canceling and postponing scheduled events in February to prevent the inflow and spread of novel coronavirus infection patients within the region.
With the fourth confirmed patient occurring domestically on the 27th, the district holds daily emergency meetings and has taken proactive measures such as canceling and postponing events scheduled for February.
To prevent the occurrence of coronavirus confirmed cases, the district is making every effort including ▲operating a quarantine task force composed of 11 members in 4 teams led by the head of the health center from the 21st ▲operating the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters 24 hours a day from Thursday the 30th with essential personnel ▲opening a dedicated consultation line due to the surge in report calls (☎2620-3856) ▲disinfecting multi-use facilities such as the district office building, community service centers, and public facilities ▲installing thermal imaging cameras in the main building lobby ▲placing hand sanitizers and prevention guideline materials in community service centers and the district office civil service room ▲distributing hand sanitizers and masks to vulnerable facilities and groups such as daycare centers and senior centers.
In addition, the thermal imaging cameras installed in the district office lobby continuously check the body temperature of employees and residents. If a person with a higher than normal body temperature is detected, they are directed to consult with an infectious disease investigator (doctor) at the screening clinic set up in front of the health center.
The district has also placed additional orders for hand sanitizers and masks in preparation for a prolonged situation.
Furthermore, the district regularly promotes novel coronavirus infection prevention guidelines through promotional media such as the district office website, SNS, and text messages.
Confirmed canceled events include ▲February 5 Dream Start parent education ▲February 6 Winter vacation field trip for the Dream Tree Reporters and Dream Start family cultural experience (Jureongjureong) ▲February 8 Jeongwol Daeboreum event ▲February 14 2020 New Middle-aged Job Fair ▲February 15 Dream Start children’s winter camp ▲February 26 Children’s Life Law Class ▲February 27 scheduled Dream Start family movie viewing ▲and classes conducted for seniors aged 65 and over at each community service center.

Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “Although residents’ anxiety is increasing as the infectious disease crisis level has been raised from caution to alert, the district has established thorough preventive measures and will do its utmost to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection by mobilizing all administrative power through daily emergency meetings to protect residents’ health and prevent community spread.”
