Gwangju Dong-gu Launches '2020 Resident Pledge Evaluation Team' for the 7th Elected Term
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 28th that it held the first meeting and appointed the ‘2020 Resident Pledge Evaluation Group’ at the district office situation room to allow residents to directly inspect and evaluate the fulfillment of the 7th elected mayor’s pledges.
The Resident Pledge Evaluation Group recruited applicants who are 18 years or older and either reside in Dong-gu or work at businesses within the district, receiving a total of 88 applications. These were then classified considering region, gender, and age, and finally, 36 members were selected through a random draw by the Pledge Fulfillment Evaluation Committee.
The Resident Pledge Evaluation Group was formed to enhance the effectiveness of the pledges through direct participation of residents who experience local issues firsthand, allowing them to evaluate the pledges and suggest development alternatives through communication with the community.
The evaluation group, composed of five subcommittees, assesses 42 pledge projects across five major areas promoted under the 7th elected mayor’s district administration goal of ‘Warm and Happy Dong-gu with Neighborly Villages’: ▲Jobs and Livelihood Economy ▲Urban Environment ▲Village Welfare ▲Living Culture and Arts ▲Autonomous Community.
They plan to conduct evaluations and propose alternatives for each pledge in two sessions on the 1st and 8th of next month, and the evaluation results will be disclosed on the district office website and other platforms within the next month.
