Deputy Prime Minister Hong visited Geonwoojunggong, a small but strong export company in Ansan Banwol Industrial Complex, in the morning and posted on his Facebook, "I was reminded once again and resolved that the government must examine the field more closely and public officials like us must create policies more meticulously," conveying this message.
Geonwoojunggong is a company that produces manufacturing molds (dies) used to make automobile parts, cellphone frames, laptop cases, etc., and is a strong export company that exports 100% of its sales overseas (70% to Japan, 30% to Europe). According to Deputy Prime Minister Hong, the molds being made at the time of the visit were also for export to Japan, and the production line was operating to meet delivery deadlines.
He wrote, "Seeing the executives and employees united and sweating during the Lunar New Year holiday to manufacture and export molds to countries like Japan and Germany amid challenging external conditions, I felt a mix of sympathy and proud pride for them. However, above all, I felt the vitality at the site, and especially the case of 'trust and reliable management' by CEO Park Soon-hwang of Geonwoojunggong for pioneering export markets was very impressive."
It is known that various proposals and opinions from executives and employees were shared during the meeting held on site. Deputy Prime Minister Hong explained, "They raised vivid opinions from the field such as discovering new markets and customers, securing and training skilled workers in the root industry sector, preparing in advance for the 52-hour workweek system, and countermeasures to enhance product price competitiveness (such as smart factories). I promised to try to incorporate those valuable opinions into government policies as much as possible." He added, "In particular, we exchanged opinions on the usefulness of the promising accounts receivable secured loan system (200 billion KRW in 2020), which was conceived and newly established based on last year's field meeting."
