According to Kyodo News on the 26th, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announced that a man in his 40s who traveled from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China to Japan was confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus. This is the fourth confirmed case of novel coronavirus infection in Japan since the spread of Wuhan pneumonia became a concern.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the man whose infection was confirmed on this day entered Japan on the 22nd. He showed no particular symptoms upon entry, but began to have a fever the next day, and on the 24th, he experienced fever along with joint pain and received medical treatment at a medical institution in Aichi Prefecture. He currently has a fever but is reported to be in stable condition.
The Ministry of Health stated that this man did not visit the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, which has been identified as the place where the novel coronavirus began to spread, and it has not been confirmed whether he had clear contact with pneumonia patients in China.
