[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Following a fire at a foreign workers' accommodation in Haenam, Jeollanam-do, which resulted in the deaths of three Thai nationals on the 25th, the police will conduct a joint investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
According to the Haenam Police Station in Jeollanam-do on the 26th, the police, the National Forensic Service, and fire authorities began inspecting the fire scene from 11 a.m. that day.
During the joint investigation, the police are reported to have closely examined the point where the flames first started, the cause of the fire, and the reasons why the deceased could not escape immediately.
Additionally, the police announced plans to perform autopsies to determine the exact cause of death of the three deceased Thai workers.
The fire occurred at around 3:37 p.m. on the 25th in a house used as foreign workers' accommodation in Hyeonsan-myeon, Haenam-gun. The fire was extinguished by the fire authorities in about 40 minutes, but three Thai nationals were found dead.
They were discovered with one male in the living room and one male and one female in the bathroom, and it is known that they had been staying there since the afternoon of the 21st.
