[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] A man in his 20s is under police investigation for stabbing his father to death with a weapon during an argument over the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Gyeonggi Gwangju Police Station announced on the 26th that they have arrested and are investigating A (20) on charges of parricide.
A is accused of stabbing his father, B (49), once with a weapon at an apartment in Gwangju City around 4 p.m. the previous day (25th), causing his death.
During the police investigation, A stated that he got into an argument with B after saying, "The house is cold, so I will raise the boiler temperature," to which B replied, "If you're cold, wear clothes." A then became enraged and committed the crime.
Immediately after the incident, B was taken to the hospital but ultimately passed away.
