President Moon's Approval Rating Slightly Rises to 47%... Driven by '20s' Age Group [Realmeter]
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] A public opinion poll revealed that President Moon Jae-in's approval rating for his administration slightly increased after four weeks, narrowing the gap between positive and negative evaluations to within the margin of error.
According to Realmeter, which conducted the survey commissioned by tbs and YTN from the 20th to the 22nd, President Moon's positive evaluation of his administration rose by 1.7 percentage points from the previous week's aggregate to 47.0%, announced on the 23rd. Negative evaluations decreased by 1.0 percentage point to 49.9%. The gap between positive and negative evaluations narrowed to 2.9 percentage points, within the margin of error (±2.5 percentage points).
Realmeter analyzed that the rise in approval was led by those in their 20s. By age group, the 20s saw a significant increase of 9.2 percentage points from the previous week (38.6% → 47.8%, negative evaluation 46.9%). The 40s also showed an increase (55.3% → 59.1%, negative evaluation 39.8%).
Additionally, the core support base, the progressive group, also contributed to the rise (75.5% → 78.1%, negative evaluation 20.6%). The conservative group also saw a slight increase in positive evaluations (18.8% → 21.5%, negative evaluation 76.9%).
In party support, the Democratic Party of Korea recorded 40.4%, up 2.0 percentage points from the previous week, regaining the 40% range. The Liberty Korea Party dropped 0.6 percentage points to 32.1%.
The New Conservative Party recorded 3.8%, down 0.9 percentage points, while the Justice Party rose 0.1 percentage points to 4.4%. Other parties were surveyed as follows: Bareunmirae Party 4.1%, Alternative Party 1.7%, Our Republican Party 1.1%, Democratic Peace Party 1.0%, and Minjung Party 0.7%.

This survey contacted 33,808 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, with a final 1,503 respondents completing the survey, recording a response rate of 4.4%.
