Gyeonggi-do to Provide Support for 'Independent Activists' Cemetery Maintenance Costs'
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will carry out the 'Independence Patriots' Cemetery Maintenance Support Project' this year.
The Independence Patriots' Cemetery Maintenance Support Project was first introduced by Gyeonggi Province in 2018 to honor the noble spirit of independence patriots for future generations and to foster patriotism among residents.
The support targets independence patriots buried in cemeteries within the province, whose descendants individually manage the graves.
The support funds include up to 200,000 KRW annually for grave mowing costs (1 to 2 times per year) and 900,000 KRW for the installation of information plaques per grave.
Applications can be submitted to the city, county, district, or town, township, and neighborhood community service centers where the cemetery is located, along with the required documents.
