Dobong-gu Recruiting 'Samsam O O' Talent Donation Instructor Courses
Dobong-gu Residents Can Gather in Groups of 5 or More to Choose and Apply for Desired Lectures and Instructors; Volunteer Instructors Will Visit for Up to 5 Delivery Lectures
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) is recruiting applicants for the 2020 delivery lecture series "Samsam O-o," where talent donors visit places where residents gather, starting from February.
"Samsam O-o" means "gathering in groups of three or five to learn." When five or more residents specify the desired lecture, learning space, and talent donation instructor, the talent donor will visit the requested location to give the lecture.
There are currently a total of 354 talent donors offering various lectures such as flower arranging, gift wrapping, history lectures, Japanese language lessons, photography, parenting education, ocarina lessons, and writing.
The delivery lecture "Samsam O-o" is planned to be conducted in five sessions, with five lectures per session. Instructor fees are fully supported, while material costs are self-funded. However, for vulnerable groups, material costs are fully covered.
Applications for the first session of "Samsam O-o" are open from February 1 to 15, and talent donors will be dispatched to conduct lectures between March and April.
Applicants can fill out the application form on the Dobong-gu Lifelong Learning Center website (http://edupia.dobong.go.kr) under the menu "Lecture Information → Lifelong Learning Center Lectures → Delivery Lecture Samsam O-o Application Guide," and apply via email (drunken@dobong.go.kr) or by visiting in person (1st floor Operations Office, Lifelong Learning Center, 128 Sirubong-ro, Dobong-gu, Seoul).
In 2019, the delivery lecture "Samsam O-o" conducted a total of 160 programs with 770 participants.
Mayor Lee Dong-jin of Dobong-gu said, "Through the delivery lecture 'Samsam O-o,' which connects talent donors and education demanders to form a voluntary lifelong learning community, I hope the capabilities of our residents will further develop. We will do our best to realize a lifelong learning system where people learn and share knowledge back with the local community."
