Last Year's Bond Settlement Amount 5549 Trillion Won... 8.3% Increase from Previous Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The Korea Securities Depository announced on the 22nd that the total bond settlement amount last year reached 5,549.2 trillion won, an 8.3% increase compared to the previous year.
By type, the on-exchange bond market settlement amount was 468.6 trillion won, up 18.9% from the previous year. Among these, the government bond specialized distribution market recorded 359.9 trillion won (21.2%), the on-exchange general bond market 14.5 trillion won (13.3%), and the on-exchange Repo market 94.2 trillion won (12.0%).
The over-the-counter bond institution settlement amount was 5,080.6 trillion won, an increase of 7.4% compared to the previous year. Among these, government bonds accounted for 2,595.6 trillion won (3.7%), CDs and CPs 1,329.5 trillion won (12.3%), and short-term bonds 1,155.5 trillion won (10.8%), all showing increases from the previous year, resulting in a rise in the total over-the-counter bond institution settlement amount, which accounts for 91.6% of the total bond settlement amount.
