The public contest project consists of six categories: ▲Making Neighbors (up to 1 million KRW) ▲Activating Community Meetings (up to 3 million KRW) ▲Creating Alleys (up to 8 million KRW) ▲Activating Community Spaces (up to 10 million KRW) ▲Village Agenda Joint Projects (up to 9 million KRW) ▲Specialized Projects (up to 10 million KRW).
The application deadlines vary by project category. Making Neighbors and Activating Community Meetings close on February 13, Creating Alleys and Activating Community Spaces close on the 18th, and Joint and Specialized Projects close on the 19th.
Any resident group of three or more people living or based in Gangbuk-gu (workplace, school, etc.) can apply. Applications can be submitted through the Seoul Village Community Comprehensive Support Center website (www.seoulmaeul.org). After the application deadline, the district will review the applications and post the final selected projects on the district website by the end of March.
The selected resident groups will sign agreements in April and carry out the projects until completion. The district will provide various support activities such as visiting village consultation offices, accounting and settlement education, and mid-term consulting to ensure smooth project progress.
Additionally, Gangbuk-gu and the district Village Autonomy Center will jointly hold a project briefing session on the 30th.
The briefing session is organized to enhance residents' understanding of community projects and will be held twice on the same day for residents' convenience. The first session will be at 10 a.m. in the district office's 4th-floor auditorium, and the second session will be at 7 p.m. at the district Village Autonomy Center. Any resident interested in village communities can attend without prior registration.
Gangbuk-gu Mayor Park Gyeom-su said, “Through this project, as residents themselves consider and solve everyday problems, we will take a step closer to a resident-led village community. We hope that contents reflecting residents' needs and local characteristics will be discovered.”
