Gwangju Dong-gu Holds Traditional Market Shopping Event for Lunar New Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 21st that it will hold a 'Traditional Market Shopping Event' on the 22nd in celebration of the nation's major holiday, Seol.
On that day, starting from 4 PM, about 600 public officials including Mayor Im Taek of Dong-gu and members of self-sustaining organizations will participate in shopping events at three locations: Namgwangju Market, Daein Market, and Sansu Market.
Participants will use Onnuri gift certificates to purchase ritual items and holiday gifts, and promote the purchase campaign of Onnuri gift certificates and the use of traditional markets to related organizations, groups, and companies.
This shopping event was prepared to revitalize the local economy by increasing sales of traditional markets and shopping districts struggling due to the recent economic downturn, and to create a market atmosphere that consumers can trust by promoting price and origin labeling and customer-friendly campaigns.
