Road Traffic Officer Suffers 'Depressed Skull Fracture' from Construction Material Falling from 12th Floor of Construction Site
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Gayeon] A public official conducting enforcement duties on a road near a hotel construction site in Haeundae, Busan, suffered serious injuries after being hit on the head by construction materials that fell from the 12th floor.
According to the Busan Police Agency on the 21st, around 10 a.m. that day, a wooden formwork support broke and fell to the ground from the 12th floor of the Yeongmu Parade Hotel construction site in Haeundae-gu. The wooden support was investigated to be 1.2 meters long and 8 cm wide.
The police stated that Mr. A, a road manager affiliated with Haeundae District Office who was conducting enforcement against road obstructions on the first floor at the time, was struck on the head by the falling wooden support and collapsed.
Mr. A sustained serious injuries, including a partial depression of the skull, and was transferred to a nearby hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

The police are investigating the detailed circumstances of the incident, believing that the accident occurred while the hotel construction company was performing loading and unloading work to raise steel materials and plywood to the upper floors.
