In the 15th minute of the first half, Vietnam's Ho Tan Tai received a cross from the right side behind North Korea's defense and passed to Nguyen Tien Linh, who rushed straight toward the goalkeeper. Tien Linh then connected the pass with an inside kick of his right foot to score the opening goal.
