At the '2020 Basic Safety Plan' briefing session, efforts made over the past year to create a safe working environment were shared.
In-depth discussions were held regarding the key tasks prioritized in the basic safety plan, which was established to fundamentally prevent safety accidents for all those working at power plants.
This year, Western Power set the vision of "Creating the Future of Western Power through Collaborative Safety Management." It presented four main directions: improving workplace hazards, establishing a safety management system, strengthening worker safety and health support, and improving safety awareness and culture.
Additionally, detailed tasks were announced and shared, including ▲computerization of safety information through the establishment of an integrated safety and health platform ▲establishment of fire and dust explosion prevention systems at coal-fired power plants ▲additional installation of on-site health management rooms ▲development of a safety culture enhancement system based on new safety techniques ▲expansion of online educational content for identifying hidden risks, supporting education for vulnerable groups such as daily workers.
According to Western Power, a labor union official who attended the briefing said they were able to easily understand and empathize with the company's safety and health policies. The official expressed a commitment to continue making every effort to create a flawless safety working environment that meets the expectations of all workers and the public through close cooperation between labor and management.
