Gwangju Dong-gu to Launch Campaign for 'Open Door Heating Business' Compliance
From the 20th to the 23rd... Imposition of Fines on Violating Businesses
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 16th that from the 20th to the 23rd, it will conduct guidance activities to discourage 'open-door heating business' targeting central commercial district stores and shops.
This follows the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's announcement of the implementation of the 'Energy Usage Restriction Measures,' which prohibit 'open-door heating business' in stores, shops, and buildings to overcome the winter power crisis.
Accordingly, Dong-gu will form a joint inspection team with Gwangju Metropolitan City and the Korea Energy Agency Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters to patrol and conduct inspections and guidance activities in central commercial areas with heavy foot traffic such as Chungjang-ro, Asia Food Culture District, and Dongmyeong-dong Cafe Street during the restriction period.
The inspection team plans to issue a first warning to violating businesses and impose fines ranging from 1.5 million to 3 million KRW depending on the number of violations.
