Lotte Confectionery Officially Enters Frozen Bakery Market... Launches 'Saengsaeng Bbangsanghoe'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Lotte Confectionery's bakery brand Kirin announced on the 16th that it has launched a frozen bakery product line called ‘Saengsaeng Bbangsanghoe 7 Types,’ which allows consumers to enjoy freshly baked bread at home using an air fryer or microwave without a separate thawing process.
‘Saengsaeng Bbangsanghoe’ includes a total of seven products: four types of fermented frozen dough to be baked in an air fryer and three types of snack breads that can also be prepared in a microwave.
The four types of fermented frozen dough are ‘Mini Croissant,’ ‘Mini Maple Pecan,’ ‘Mini Pain au Chocolat,’ and ‘Mini Vanilla Crown.’ Unlike conventional frozen dough products that require thawing or fermentation time, these products can be cooked for about 10 minutes in an air fryer or microwave oven to enjoy warm, freshly baked bread. Using ‘Schulstad’ dough, which incorporates 125 years of European pastry tradition, it preserves the authentic pastry texture that is difficult to achieve with domestic frozen dough equipment, resulting in a crispy exterior and moist interior.
The three snack breads are ‘Garlic Sausage Bread,’ ‘Potato Mayo Glutinous Ball,’ and ‘Mini Cream Cheese Pretzel,’ which can be eaten after about 30 seconds to 2 minutes of cooking in a microwave or air fryer. These products use Belgian ‘Rigolettо’ sourdough, which enhances the aroma and flavor as they are baked, adding a savory taste.

Before the official launch of ‘Saengsaeng Bbangsanghoe,’ Lotte Confectionery first introduced the products on online malls to gauge consumer reactions. Due to positive consumer feedback, including achieving the number one daily sales ranking in some malls, the company decided to officially launch the line and expand sales channels to large supermarkets and home shopping. Lotte Confectionery plans to further expand the ‘Saengsaeng Bbangsanghoe’ lineup and focus on various promotional activities to nurture this new bakery brand.
