Minister Park Young-sun: "We Will Achieve a 'Smart Korea' This Year"
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, said on the 15th, "Small and medium-sized enterprises will play the role of smart factories, startups and ventures will build smart services, and small business owners will spread smart stores to achieve a 'Smart Korea.'"
Minister Park attended the 2020 Small Business Association New Year's Greeting Ceremony held at the Seoul City Club Convention Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, and announced this year's policy direction of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups along with encouragement to small business owners and industry figures.
Minister Park said, "With the enactment of the Small Business Basic Act, small business owners have established themselves as the foundation of our economy and as independent economic agents," and added, "Systematic support for small business owners will accelerate in the future."
He said, "This year's budget related to small business owners has increased by 530 billion KRW compared to last year's main budget, reaching an all-time high of 3.15 trillion KRW," and emphasized, "Based on the Basic Act and the budget, we will promote policies this year to achieve results that small business owners can feel."
