[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The overpass at Haengjeong Town Intersection in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi Province, will be temporarily opened. Accordingly, traffic flow in the Seosuwon Haengjeong Town area, which had been suffering from frequent congestion, is expected to improve.
Suwon City announced on the 14th that the overpass at Haengjeong Town Intersection, constructed to expand the traffic network in the Seosuwon area, will be temporarily opened at 11 a.m. on the 15th.
The Haengjeong Town Intersection overpass has a total length of 940 meters and is scheduled for completion by the end of next month. The construction is being handled by LH, with a total project cost of 21 billion KRW. The current progress rate is 93%.
To alleviate traffic congestion during commuting caused by the construction, the city conducted an on-site inspection of the overpass facilities on the 9th in cooperation with LH, Suwon Southern and Western Police Stations, and then finalized the decision for temporary opening. This temporary opening is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion on the section from Homaesil IC to Suwon Station.
